Daron Watts

Full Biography

Daron practices at the crossroads of law and public policy, providing strategic counsel to clients facing complex challenges involving government regulation, public policy and politics. He represents clients in the life sciences, technology and other regulated industries as well as disruptive innovators and non-profit organizations facing complex challenges on multiple fronts. His work often involves regulatory policy, legislation or Congressional investigations or crisis management regarding new or changing markets or regulatory frameworks -- and frequently requires coordination of positions in different arenas, including various branches of government and jurisdictions.

Before founding The Watts Group, Daron was a partner at SidleyAustin, a top global law firm where practiced for more than 23 years. He relocated from LA to Washington, DC in 2010 to found and co-lead the firm’s Government Strategies practice. In 2018, he founded TWG to continue to provide elite law firm service, with the flexibility and value of his own boutique firm on issues ranging from straightforward legal or policy matters to complex issues involving law, public policy and political issues.

In addition to serving on the Board of CBC PAC, Daron also serves on the Board University of Southern California Gould School of Law and the Corporate Advisory Council of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation -- and volunteers on causes such as obesity, racial profiling/injustice, health disparities, health care access and protecting voting rights.
