Congressional Black Caucus Unveils Corporate DEI Accountability Report

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) released a groundbreaking report that examines Fortune 500 companies' commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives following the 2020 racial justice movement.

The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) has released "'What Good Looks Like': A Corporate Accountability Report on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion", a groundbreaking study examining Fortune 500 companies' commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives. Despite recent challenges, the report finds that most surveyed companies remain dedicated to advancing DEI in the workplace. It outlines 12 best practices for promoting DEI and highlights research showing that racially diverse executive teams outperform their peers in profitability by 39%.

CBC Chairman Steven Horsford emphasized the report's importance as a guide for strengthening corporate diversity practices, stating, "We cannot allow right-wing agitators to bully corporations, and this report is an initial step in advancing our Black wealth and economic prosperity agenda." The study follows the CBC's December 2023 letter urging corporations to maintain their DEI commitments and serves as a standardized tool for companies to enhance their DEI practices across industries. This initiative is part of the CBC's broader agenda to advance Black wealth and economic prosperity in America.
