Congressional Black Caucus PAC Unanimously Endorses Val Demings for Congress (FL-10)

Val Demings is the fourth endorsement of the CBCPAC for the 2016 cycle

In a statement today, the Congressional Black Caucus Political Action Committee Chair Congressman Gregory Meeks (NY - 5) announced that the CBC PAC unanimously endorsed Democrat Val Demings in Florida's 10th Congressional District.

"Val Demings brings a critical perspective to important conversations happening in our country today,” said Congressman Meeks. “As the first female police chief of Orlando, she has proven herself to be a tireless champion for issues impacting African Americans in our country, and will serve as a much-needed voice for the people of the 10th District of Florida."

In response to the endorsement, Val Demings said, "The Congressional Black Caucus PAC is one of the most powerful and vocal advocates for increasing African American participation in the political process. I am honored to have their unanimous support, and like so many others, I am grateful for their unwavering commitment to promoting equal opportunity."

Founded in 1994, The Congressional Black Caucus PAC works to increase the number of African Americans in the U.S. Congress, support non-Black candidates that champion our interests, and promote African American participation in the political process with an emphasis on young voters. There are currently 46 African Americans in Congress comprising the largest Congressional Black Caucus in history.
