Congressional Black Caucus PAC Statement Denouncing Dangerous, Racist MAGA Screed At Madison Square Garden
Washington, D.C. — Today on behalf of the Congressional Black Caucus, CBCPAC Chairman Rep. Gregory Meeks released the following statement denouncing the dangerous, racist MAGA screed at Madison Square Garden this weekend:
“This weekend Donald Trump and his clan of MAGA extremists once again demonstrated for the American people their campaign represents the divisive politics of the past – one that pits family, neighbors, and fellow Americans against each other. In the strongest terms, we denounce these attacks on our Puerto Rican neighbors and the hate spewed at Madison Square Garden. The racist, misogynist, and xenophobia screed we saw yesterday is beneath the rhetoric of public servants and an embarrassing display of the state of our politics for democracies around the world looking to us to set an example. Every day between now and Election Day, millions of Americans of every background will send a clear message to Donald Trump and his type: we are not going back. We are going forward with a hopeful vision for our nation that lifts people up instead of knocking people down. I believe the American people will elect Vice President Harris and Governor Walz and make Hakeem Jeffries Speaker of the House.”
